Cristiano Ronaldo Jr and Kai Rooney both on scoresheet for Man Utd U12s as they look to follow famous fathers’ lead

CRISTIANO RONALDO JR and Kai Rooney both found the net as Manchester United U12s played West Brom yesterday.

The pair of famous sons are now team-mates at United, just as their fathers were during the 2000s.

Fans can be forgiven for getting a little nostalgic, after seeing a United game with Rooney and Ronaldo on the scoresheet.

The original version of that partnership featuring Wayne and Cristiano Sr played an integral part in Sir Alex Ferguson’s all-conquering side.

They won three consecutive Premier League titles together, as well as the Champions League in 2008.

The pair were broken up in 2009, when Ronaldo swapped Old Trafford for Real Madrid.

But the families are now united again through their kids.

Instagram account Rising Ballers wrote: “Cristiano Jr & Kai Rooney both scored for Manchester United U12s yesterday 👀🔥

“Kai Rooney is on 10 goals in 5 games this month… This link up is familiar.”

Cristiano Sr returned to the Red Devils last summer, while Rooney is managing Derby County.

Although if Wazza gets his way, he’ll join CR7 back at Old Trafford.

The 36-year-old told SunSport: “The whole reason in me going into management is Manchester United. I got offered the job interview for the Everton job.

“I want to be Manchester United manager. I know I am not ready now but I have to plan everything I do to make sure one day it will happen.”

Recalling his link up with CR7 at Old Trafford, Rooney joked: “Cristiano was so good and so f***ing annoying at the same time.

“He is probably not as good now but he is probably just as annoying.”

Ronaldo, 37, has previously said of his eldest son: “We’ll see if my son will become a great footballer.

“He has potential. He is fast and dribbles well, but that is not enough.

“I always tell him that it takes work and dedication to have success. I won’t pressure him to become a footballer, but if you ask me if I want him to, yes I would like it.

“The most important thing is to become the best at whatever he does, whether it is as a footballer or a doctor.”
