A Texas mother was shot and killed while visiting her son’s grave on his ‘first birthday in heaven,’ according to police and the woman’s ex-husband.

Yolanda N’Gaojia, 52, was fatally shot just after 5 pm on Tuesday at the Calvary Baptist Church Garden of Memories Cemetery in Killeen, where she was visiting the grave of her son Amir on what would have been his 22nd birthday.

A second victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident, the Killeen Police Department said in a news release. Their identity has not been made public.

Kineh N’Gaojia identified his ex-wife while speaking with KWTX.

Their son Amir died on New Year’s Day earlier this year, according to an online obituary. He was one of three children that Yolanda and Kineh shared.
