A loud smash and shouts of “woah” are heard in the footage as the vehicles violently collide.

The lorry driver then tears away, leaving the cop car a crumpled wreck outside St Andrew’s church in Stockwell, South London.

The video, posted online on Easter Sunday, was captioned: “Good morning Brixton.”

The drama unfolded in front of a woman and two kids who were just feet away from the crash.

In an update, Twitter account Brick Cop claimed he had heard from the driver of the police car.

A post said: “Apart from being a little sore, [he’s] in good spirits.”

We have contacted the Metropolitan Police for comment.

It was not clear when the video was filmed or whether the lorry or its driver were traced.

A waste disposal and removals business is named on the side of the truck, but there is no suggestion the owner was involved.

He was not available for comment when contacted by The Sun Online tonight.

But a Facebook message on March 9 said: “This vehicle was sold seven months ago. It is no longer registered to us.”

The former owner added he had heard many reports of the same truck being involved with fly-tipping around South London.

The business owner called for any witnesses to contact police.

In an update today following video of the Stockwell crash, he said police had turned up on his door to make enquiries.

He said: “Nothing but headaches.”

The video was posted to various viral content platforms prompting hundreds of reactions from horrified viewers who saw the clip.

One person said: “Glad to hear the driver is OK. Take care and stay safe all of you. Thank you so much for all you do to keep us safe”.
