In the Disney Plus short titled When Billie Met Lisa, the musical middle child secures the ultimate jamming session invite with the Happier Than Ever singer, 20, and her brother and collaborator Finneas O’Connell.
While fans jumped for joy over the crossover, some compared the programme’s premise to Lisa Goes Gaga – which featured the Bad Romance musician.
Despite Gaga’s involvement, the episode was hailed as the worst of all time.
One tweeted: ‘The Billie Eilish Simpsons short is repeating everything wrong with Lisa Goes Gaga and shows that the creatives don’t understand why that episode is so hated by fans.’
‘This will be another case of “Lisa goes gaga” (the Lady Gaga episode) won’t it?’ another added.

One person quipped: ‘This has ‘Lisa Goes Gaga vibes all over it.’
Billie joins a string of celebrities who have previously played themselves on the TV show, from late Star Trek star Leonard Nimoy to The Office creator Ricky Gervais.
Last month, The Weeknd shared a first look at his guest role on the show, playing two characters, rather than making a cameo on himself.
The Blinding Lights singer portrayed a famous child influencer who owns a skatewear brand, as well as voicing his father, tweeting that it was a ‘dream come true’.

Billie’s schedule has been pretty jam-packed lately, as she filled the headline slot at Coachella this weekend.
At the end of her set, Billie, 20, gave a special shout-out to Beyonce, who famously headlined the festival in 2018 when it was dubbed Beychella.
‘Thank you, Coachella! I’m sorry I’m not Beyoncé,’ Billie told the audience before exiting stage left. ‘I love you, goodnight.’
When Billie Met Lisa will be available to stream on Disney Plus from April 22.
