He’s no stranger to playing spies or throwing himself physically and fully into a role and, in this riveting new six-part thriller, Gary Oldman does both.

Gary plays grumpy but brilliant spy Jackson Lamb, who’s chief of the Slow Horses department of MI5, so-called because it houses agents who’ve failed to make the grade thanks to mistakes on the job.

All lank, greasy hair and stained clothes, Lamb is gloriously seedy, cantankerous and rude but he’s also fiercely loyal to his team, however, much he likes to insult them.

So when the department gets drawn into the case of a young Muslim man who’s been kidnapped by a far-right group, Lamb finds himself fighting to solve the case – and keep the Slow Horses out of too much trouble.

Available to watch from Friday, 1 April.

Moon Knight (Disney+)

Marvel’s hit rate of exciting, action-packed TV series has been seriously impressive, with WandaVision, Loki and Hawkeye all becoming must-see telly events.

Now here comes the latest, Moon Knight, which stars Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector, a mysterious and merciless mercenary with multiple personality disorder.

With his various different identities helping out, including mild-mannered Brit Steven Grant, Marc – aka Moon Knight – becomes embroiled in a terrifying fight involving ancient Egyptian gods and ruthless villain Arthur Harrow.

Available to watch from Wednesday, 30 March.

Hot Property (BBC3)

Who doesn’t love the idea of a show that’s essentially a mash-up of Blind Date and Through The Keyhole?

Yes, Hot Property is back for a third series of snooping around the homes of potential partners and, this time, host Yung Filly comes to the romantic rescue of a selection of celebrity singletons.

Taking part are Drag Race star Ellie Diamond, Geordie Shore’s Chloe Ferry, ex-Emmerdale actor Scott Thomas, The Apprentice’s Ryan-Mark Parsons, Big Brother’s Imogen Thomas, DJ Snoochie Shy, boxer Lawrence Okolie and magician Dan Rhodes – and it promises to be red hot.

The Bubble (Netflix)

When Covid hits, the cast of a big-budget US blockbuster that’s filming in the UK are forced to remain together and complete the movie.

It isn’t long, however, before the pressures of being cooped up together in their hotel begin to take their toll.

Featuring a properly star-studded cast – David Duchovny, Maria Bakalova, Keegan-Michael Key, Leslie Mann and Peter Serafinowicz, to name but a few – this flick from director Judd Apatow is fun, irreverent and crammed with enjoyably silly set pieces.

Available to watch from Friday, April 1.

Queen Of Versailles Reigns Again (Discovery+)

Cast your mind back to 2012 and you might remember a documentary called The Queen Of Versailles.

It told the story of US couple David and Jackie Seigel, who decided to splash a mountain of cash on building the largest home in America, a grandiose and gaudy palace modelled on Versailles, with an unhealthy helping of Las Vegas glitz thrown in.

Unfortunately, the financial crash of 2008 put a spanner in the works and they ran out of funds, their dream home only half-built.

This cracking new six-part series reveals what happened next, catching up with Jackie as she embarks upon the challenge of finishing the project.

Available to watch from Wednesday, March 30.

Bridgerton (Netflix)

Who needs Regé-Jean Page? Okay, the new series of Bridgerton doesn’t feature the much-lusted after Simon Basset, but there’s still a Regency ballroom’s worth of intrigue, thanks to the arrival of sisters Kate and Edwina Sharma, new love interests for the snobby Anthony.

Bad Vegan: Fame. Fraud. Fugitives (Netflix)

Directed by Christ Smith – the man behind Tiger King and Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened.

This four-part documentary tells the jaw-dropping true story of how celebrated New York restaurateur Sarma Melngailis fell from grace and stole millions from her own business.

Shining Vale (STARZPLAY)

If you’ve ever wondered what a mash-up of the Scream movies and Friends might look like, this new comedy about frustrated erotic novelist Pat, who moves her family into a haunted house, probably isn’t too far off.

Holding it all together is Courteney Cox, who’s absolutely brilliant in the lead role.

No Woman No Try (Amazon Prime)

This timely and honest documentary examines issues facing women’s rugby right now, including matters of gender, ethnicity and sexual equality.

Featuring contributions from leading figures from both the women’s and men’s game, including Shaunagh Brown and Ugo Monye, it’s important stuff.

The Witchfinder (BBC iPlayer)

It might not be bursting with side-splitting one-liners but this beautifully written and performed historical comedy channels the same slow-burning brilliance of shows like The Office, Alan Partridge and This Country, which also stars the wonderful Daisy May Cooper.
