The Apprentice in fix row as furious fans claim winner ‘was picked from the start’

FURIOUS fans of The Apprentice have claimed the winner was “picked from the start” in a new fix row.

Viewers took to Twitter in their droves to complain that the business plans at the start of the show gave Harpreet Kaur a kickstart.

Last night, Harpreet, 30 – who owns a six-figure coffee and cake business, was crowned the winner of the BBC One competition.

The businesswoman was awarded £250,000 from Lord Alan Sugar to pour into her new sweets business, Oh So Yum.

However, fans felt that the ruling was unfair, and that Harpreet had been hand-picked from the start and given a head start.

Viewers suggested that Lord Sugar, 74, and his team of aides had likely “read her business plan” before the competition got under way.

“Total fix, you obviously read their business plan at the beginning and decide straight away who your winner is going to be,” one scathed.

A second chimed in: “Definitely fixed, Lord sugar had seen a business plan that he wants and is making sure that person wins.”

“However many weeks of candidates going through meaningless tasks only for Lord Sugar to pick one based exclusively on their actual business plan and how it fits into his existing portfolio,” a third said.

On Thursday evenings, Harpreet Kaur was crowned the winner and granted Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment.

The businesswoman from West Yorkshire beat Kathryn, 29, in the final boardroom showdown to realise a lifelong dream.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, she said: “I’m just ecstatic. I’m so happy. I’m proud of myself. I’ve worked really really hard to get to this point.

“Since the age of 18 I’ve just been at it full time. I’ve never stopped, and I feel this is the moment I was waiting for.”

However, despite the excitement of Harpreet’s win – fans were  left in hysterics last night as a different contestant “stole the show”.

Taking to Twitter, fans of the BBC One business competition were left laughing that Nick Showering had them totally distracted.

They joked that every camera cut of the finance manager saw him shovelling some kind of food into his mouth.

“Nick is a vibe just eating through the whole meeting,” one fan kicked off the comments, alongside a series of laughing-face emojis.

“Approximately 84.7% of this final so far has just been Nick eating,” a second chimed in, as a third began: “Compilation of Nick eating.”

“This episode really is Nick in his element – eating all the food there is,” a fourth viewer joked, while a fifth dubbed him the “star of the show”.

The fired candidates returned for the final episode to help Harpreet Kaur and Kathryn Burn compete for Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment.

However, eagle-eyed viewers at home were quick to notice that three of the former contestants missed out on the final show.
