Nicki Minaj has reignited her feud with Cardi B and, in the process, taken aim at other female rappers too.

The Starships rapper has been accused of throwing shade at her longtime rap rival, as well as Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion, in a tweet on Tuesday.

Nicki, 39, shared a screenshot of an opinion piece published on HotNewHipHop which was titled: ‘Why Nicki Minaj is one of the greatest of all time.’

In one section, the writer notes that while the ‘contributions’ of artists like Cardi, Doja, Megan and the City Girls have been ‘welcomed’ in recent years, ‘female rap still feels incomplete without Nicki Minaj’s presence and output’.

He argued that this alone highlights Nicki’s importance to hip hop ‘as a genre and as a culture’.

Well, Nicki seemed to agree and shared this particular paragraph to her Twitter feed but blocked out the names of the other female rappers.

It was a move seen as ‘messy’ by her critics and they called the rapper out accordingly.

One commented on Twitter: ‘Well I guess Nicki Minaj is not escaping those “Jealous of the New Rap Gals” rumors, after all.’

Another claimed: ‘Nicki’s been using the same tactics to promote her singles for years and it’s always being petty to other female rappers. can someone tell her she doesn’t need to do that anymore???’

A former fan said that while they used to love Nicki’s music and still ‘believes she is queen of rap (for now)’, they feel that she has become ‘bitter and petty’ in recent years.

One other weighed in: ‘Nicki might be talented but she’s also way too petty and chart obsessed for her own good imo.’

However, Nicki’s devoted Barbz of course rushed to her defence, with one weighing in: ‘Nicki crossed out the names so yall wouldnt think she was being messy, and yall still think she was being messy.’

One supporter claimed: ‘None of the girls crossed out have the influence to take over the rap game by themselves the same way Nicki did.’

‘We love a disrespectful queen. (We know you’re not),’ another fan quipped.

There’s no love lost between Cardi and Nicki whose beef has spanned several years and even spilled out onto social media at one point.

However, Cardi seemed to extend the olive branch in 2020 when she gave Nicki credit for ‘dominating’ rap.
